FAQ's
View PackagesDo you have a Hawaii General Excise Tax License (GET)?
Absolutely. Most businesses that have business transactions occur in Hawaii have to pay the GET. This applies to business that sells goods or provides services.
Business: DLYTE SERVICES LLC DBA DJ DLYTE
Are you insured?
We have full liability insurance policy with a coverage value of $2,000,000. We are happy to provide you or your venue with a copy of our Certificate of Insurance (COI).
Liability Insurance covers DJ DLYTE, the Venue, and YOU in case of an accident caused by DJ equipment. There is always a chance that someone will trip and fall and seriously get injured. Nowadays, you don’t know if that person is going to turn around and sue you, the person that invited him/her to your party. Without the DJ’s liability insurance, there is a chance you will have to pay for those costs.
In short, the Venue may require DJ DLYTE (and other vendors, photographer, videographer, etc) to carry liability insurance. True professional will have it (weekend-warriors probably won’t) and it’s a simple way to ensure your event will be a day to remember in a positive way, not in a courtroom.
What happens after we “Get A Quote?”
Upon submitting the form a proposal is generated. After accepting the proposal an invoice is created. Once the invoice link is accessed you will receive an email from Adobe Sign with instructions to electronically sign the contract.
Both parties must sign the contract before any payment can be made. After signing of contract payment options will become available.
Do you offer a written contract?
Absolutely. A contract establishes our obligation to you and outlines everything required in the process, including our setup requirements (which are minimal) and other factors related to your event. For this reason, a written contract is absolutely essential, and we believe that any DJ not using a written contract should not, in our humble opinion, be considered for your event.
How far ahead should we book your service?
It depends on the date. Some clients choose to contract a year or more in advance, while some are comfortable waiting until several months prior. Saturdays are the busiest nights, so waiting too long to hire DJ DLYTE (or any service) for a Saturday night might lead to disappointment. We only require a $500 deposit to lock in your date.
Do you double-book?
No, we do not double-book. The first deposit/contract received is the one we will honor. Basically, first come first served. Once we have the deposit and the contract is signed, we are joined at the hip for your event.
What are your rates?
Our rates vary depending on what promotions we are running and upon the date, the time needed, location, package, your specific needs and other variables that can impact the final rate. If we run additional promotions after you book with us, we will make sure we honor the discounts even if you are already booked with us.
We try our best to accommodate your needs.
What are your minimum Event Hours?
We have a 4 hour minimum.
What Forms of Payment Do You Accept?
We currently accept any credit or debit card with a MasterCard, Visa, Discover Network, American Express, Diners Club International or JCB logo, along with PayPal and checks
Show Payment Options
How much deposit is required?
We only require a $500 deposit to reserve the date. You are welcome to make payments at any time, and we do accept PayPal and all major credit cards.
When is final/full payment due?
The remaining or full payment balance is to be paid no later than 30 days before the event date.
Do you charge Credit Card Convenience Fees?
No, we do not charge Credit Card Convenience Fees. We don’t pad credit card processing costs into the price you’re charged.
Why do you offer a 10% discount for paying in full with the signed contract?
We offer this discount because it simplifies our operations (it’s much better to process one payment than two, and the time saved in not having to track and collect a balance makes the discount worth it to us) and it simplifies our clients’ budget management.
Note: Not valid with any other discount or offer.
What’s your refund & cancellation policy?
DJ DLYTE provides a “Partial Refund of Fees Paid,” less a $200 processing fee, for cancellations that happen within thirty (30) days of the date of booking our services. Further, after thirty (30) days of the date of booking our services, DJ DLYTE provides a “Partial Refund of Fees Paid” less a $500 processing fee. However, there are no refunds after sixty (60) days of the date of booking our services. Fees are justified by administrative logistics but also in consideration of the time that the event date was otherwise off the market. The remainder of the total Contract is due no later than 30 days before the event date.

Do you have the latest hits?
We update our music library every week, so we always have the most current music. Please let us know if you have specific songs or artists you want to be played at your event. We have 2,000,000+ song library with the latest hits in all music genres, 4G LTE wireless web access for instant downloads of any guest requests.
If you don’t have a song we want, can we bring our own CDS/Media?
Chances are we will have the music you are looking for, especially as we also provide 4G LTE wireless instant downloads. Many of our clients bring their own CDs or MP3’s for any rare songs they don’t think we will have. We are happy to play any music you wish to provide in addition to our normal library of choices. Should there be a special song you need that neither of us has, we will attempt to locate and purchase that song for you. We cannot guarantee that a particular song is in print or is available, but we rarely come across a client request that we cannot accommodate.
What are the traditional Ceremony Songs?
Most of our clients ask us to play prelude music prior to the ceremony, along with a wedding processional for the bridal entrance and a wedding recessional for the exit from the ceremony. Occasionally, we are asked to play special songs for the seating of special family members or the entrance of the bridal party. Also, music can accompany any special moments that sometimes occur during the wedding ceremony (like unity candle).
When do we need to complete song selections and formalities?
We recommend you return your planner/playlist to us at least 30 days before your event, if not sooner. This gives us time to compile your specific song requests.
What makes you different from your competitors?
We truly take pride in our work, and we believe that the services we provide are unique. We go above and beyond to make sure that you are happy in every aspect, from the planning process, down to the night of the event. We are completely mobile and truly cater to you and your guests. If you really want to see what makes us different, go ahead and book us. You will see how enthusiastic we are about the customer service experience.
Can our Live band connect to your Equipment?
Absolutely! It is your day, therefore, it is all about you. Most of the weddings that we do have a live band that connects to our equipment during cocktail hour and sometimes dinner.

Meet The DJ

Dwight Mascowe
Dwight , aka DJ D-LYTE, was destined to have music as a part of his life because he grew up around his favorite uncles and cousins who were well-known all over the island of JAMAICA as some of the most popular top-rated DJ’s, event promoters and studio engineers. Naturally, he listened to music incessantly, and learned to use all types of music production equipment from the professionals in his vicinity.
